Lab-Grown Diamond Ring Buying Guide

Jewel Eternal · Updated October 3, 2026

Choose a lab-grown diamond ring by confirming the complete configuration: the supplied stone, its documentation, the metal, setting, ring size, accent materials and final selected price. A stone-size label or a starting price is only part of that decision.

This guide is for planning a Jewel Eternal lab-grown diamond ring. If you are still deciding between gemstones, begin with moissanite vs lab diamond. For diamond origin, read lab-grown vs natural diamonds.

Start with your complete ring budget

Decide what you want to spend on the finished ring before comparing stone sizes. Keep the design, selected metal, center stone, accent stones and any requested changes together when comparing offers.

On a JE listing, choose the stone and metal configuration and read its final selected ring price. A moissanite starting price is not the price of every lab-grown diamond selection. For a custom request, ask for the quote for your specific configuration rather than estimating it from a different ring or loose-stone offer.

If you are planning a wedding band as well, consider it as a separate piece unless the listing explicitly states that a set is included. Pairing photographs can show how pieces work together without making them part of one purchase.

Choose the shape and visible proportions you prefer

Decide what you like about the design: the outline of the center stone, the setting, the band and how the piece will sit beside another ring. Use the 4Cs guide to understand the stone-quality terms, then ask for the actual supplied stone’s dimensions where those details matter to your choice.

For example, JE’s Princess Solitaire offers 2ct lab-grown diamond selections, while the Asscher Solitaire offers 2.5ct and 3ct lab-grown diamond selections. Both have solid 14K yellow gold, solid 14K white gold and Platinum 950 lab-grown diamond options. The shape and design give you different starting points; compare the current selections on each listing.

Confirm the actual stone and documentation

JE’s lab-grown diamond sourcing target is D–F color and VS1 clarity or better. Confirm the individual supplied stone’s grades and any accompanying report. This does not promise every stone is D/VVS or comes with a particular issuing laboratory’s report.

Ask which document applies to the selected center stone, what information it provides and how the supplied stone is matched to it. Our report-reading guide explains the questions to ask, including newer GIA assessment terminology.

Keep metal and accent choices specific to the listing

Choose from the metals actually offered for your selected stone. Solid 14K gold and Platinum 950 are important JE options, but the combinations vary by design. A silver or plated moissanite option does not mean the same configuration is offered with every diamond size.

The approved design stays the same between moissanite and lab-grown diamond versions, with the selected stone type throughout: moissanite center and moissanite accents, or lab-grown diamond center and lab-grown diamond accents. Explicit colored sapphire or ruby designs keep their stated gemstone details.

Confirm the full combination before ordering: center stone, accents, metal and finish. A design photograph is a reference for the piece; ask about any detail the selection controls or specifications leave unclear.

Check ring size, fit and the wedding band together

Use the ring size guide and the sizing choices on the individual listing. Tell JE if you are planning a stack or need to discuss the fit of a wider band.

If a flush wedding-band fit matters to you, raise that requirement before confirming the design. Our existing wedding-band fit guide explains flush, gap and contoured arrangements. This planning step helps make the ring choice about the whole set you intend to wear.

Discuss customization before payment

Want a different stone size, metal or design detail? Most Jewel Eternal designs can be customized, and custom does not automatically mean a dramatically higher price. Simple changes may add relatively little; more involved designs are quoted individually.

Keep your requested changes together in one inquiry. Include the product link, preferred stone, metal, ring size and the detail you want to change. Confirm the final design and quote before proceeding.

Plan for made-to-order timing

Once payment has been made, it takes about 2–3 weeks for me to make and mail your jewelry.

If you have a proposal or event date, discuss it before ordering. Making and mailing your piece is separate from its arrival date; confirm the current production and shipping expectations for your order.

Payment options are shown at checkout.

Your final confirmation checklist

  • Selected lab-grown diamond size, individual grades and available documentation.
  • Metal, finish, setting and accent materials.
  • Ring size and any wedding-band fit requirements.
  • Approved customization details and the final selected ring price or custom quote.
  • Production and shipping expectations for your plans.

After your piece arrives, keep its supplied documents and confirmation with your receipt, and use the jewelry care guide.
