Weightlifting, gripping tools, sports, and striking hard surfaces can compress or distort a ring. Stones may loosen immediately or later as wear continues.

Stop wearing the ring if a stone is missing or others feel loose. A jeweler should inspect the entire pavé area rather than replacing only the visible missing stone.
